Porsche disputes wrongful death suit in Paul Walker crash

Many film fans in Montana and elsewhere still mourn the 2013 death of actor Paul Walker. On that fateful November night, Mr. Walker and a friend had taken the actor’s Porsche Carrera GT out for a spin, and ended up in a fiery crash that killed both men, despite their wearing seatbelts. Recently, Mr. Walker’s 16-year-old daughter filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche, alleging the car company was responsible for her father’s death due to flaws in the vehicle’s design.

Discussing the prevalence and causes of traumatic brain injuries

Traumatic brain injuries affect a surprising number of people in Montana and across the United States each year. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are at least 138 deaths involving brain injuries throughout the country each day, and at least 1.7 million injuries every year. People who have been involved in a serious car accident, slip-and-fall incident or an accident at work may have received a traumatic brain injury. In some cases, injured victims may not be aware that they have a brain injury, as some TBIs can go undetected for several days or weeks after the incident occurred.

Montana roads some of the most deadly in the country

There are several factors that contribute to the safety of roadways in Montana and across the country. Speed limits, road conditions and weather conditions all affect road safety, and can ultimately determine the likelihood that people traveling through that area may become involved in a catastrophic car accident. Since motorists are able to travel at a much higher rate of speed on many Montana roadways, the risk of car accidents, injuries and death increases as well.

Surgical errors put patients’ lives at risk

Whether a patient is going under the knife for a routine procedure or for an emergency operation, he or she may become the victim of a surgical error. Mistakes that occur in the operating room are just one serious form of medical malpractice, and they occur more often than some people may think. According to Medical News Today, researchers from John Hopkins University found that more than 4,000 surgical mistakes happen every year in Montana and throughout the U.S. Many believe, however, that this number is low because a number of surgical errors and other types of medical negligence go undetected and/or unreported.
