It seems that no students were seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash outside of Bozeman, Montana that left the driver of one vehicle seriously injured. The car accident occurred when the driver of a sedan careened into the back of a chartered bus carrying a large number of area students.
Law enforcement arrived at the scene of the accident to find the large bus relatively undamaged compared to the automobile that crashed into its rear. Officers' initial findings and reports suggest that the woman driving the car may not have been paying attention to the road. Although the driver was not killed upon impact, it took a Bozeman fire crew several minutes to remove her from her vehicle before rushing her to a local hospital.
Above all else, it should come as a relief to know that no children were killed or seriously injured in the accident. With that said though, no one can ever expect to be lucky all the time and an accident like this could have turned out much worse for the children, as well as the woman who crashed into their bus.
Although it remains to be confirmed exactly what caused the woman to lose focus and crash into the bus, the driver put the health and safety of several children in jeopardy. When distracted drivers cause an accident like this one, the damages can often be catastrophic. These negligent drivers can and should be held accountable for their unsafe behavior behind the wheel. Victims of these accidents have the right to speak with an attorney and take legal action to pursue compensation for damages if appropriate.
